Winter Park Chocolate Festival

There is a lot going on in Winter Park, Colorado this weekend. The resort is officially reopening for the summer, lifts will be running, the new mini-golf course will be open, people will be racing down the alpine slide, and the Winter Park Resort will be buzzing with people as it wakes up from it’s mud-season slumber.

If you drive by the resort on Saturday, you might catch a whiff of a heavenly scent…the scent of yummy, delectable, and decadent chocolate.

If you’re a fan of chocolate, you should plan to come to the Winter Park Chocolate Festival on June 13th at the Winter Park Resort. This fun-filled, family friendly, festival, features live music all day, 20+ vendors, samples, chocolate tastings, and chocolate eating contests! (Plus, with free admission, you can’t go wrong!)

The Event Schedule:

10:00am Live Music kicks off with band, ‘The Trubelos’ – The Trubelos are experts at blending country, folk, rock, and blues music, as they sing well-known covers and their original songs. This band knows how to get the party started and will keep you dancing as you explore the festival.

11:00am Chocolate Pudding Eating Contest – This is not your average food-eating contest and things are going to get messy! Whether you enter to participate and hope to take home the golden ticket, or you just watch the shenanigans, you will be in for a treat!

12:00pm Name that Chocolate – Enter to try the festival’s newest contest where you will have to determine the specific types of chocolate while you are blindfolded. The prize is a Golden Ticket valued at $10 that can be used at any booth.

1:00pm Chocolate Crown Competition – How many Hershey Kisses can you eat in one minute? If you think you’ve got what it takes to win, enter this contest and you could take home the cherished chocolate crown!

2:00pm Chocolate Tasting – We all know that different chocolates taste different…but do you know why? Purchase a taste ticket and learn the science behind the different tastes of chocolates with Robin of Robin Chocolates. After this you will finally be able to call yourself a “chocolate connoisseur.”

Once you’ve sampled enough chocolate to put you into a chocolate-coma, hit the Grand Park Community Recreation Center to work it off, or grab a bottle of wine from Icebox Liquors to pair perfectly with dinner and watch the sun go down. There is never a dull moment in Winter Park, Colorado.
