Grand Park area resort feature: Winter Park

The Grand Park area is home to many different resorts, one of which is the world famous Winter Park Ski Resort. Just minutes from Grand Park, this downhill ski resort has over 3000 miles of terrain for all abilities, from friendly groomers to trees and moguls to terrain parks to even backcountry chutes and bowls. And Winter Park has plenty of fresh powder days, with over 300 inches of snowfall a year!

This year marks the kickoff of Winter Park’s “Season of Seven Territories,” a campaign meant to showcase the personality of each unique terrain within the resort.

The Winter Park Territory has something for everyone, though this terrain is geared mainly toward families and beginners. Its groomed runs and long cruisers are the perfect place for you and your family to ski together, or just for you to enjoy a relaxing ride down the mountain.

The Mary Jane territory is a favorite among locals. Mary Jane is known for its mostly ungroomed terrain, which includes famously humbling moguls and tree runs. With a good combination of big bumps and blue runs, Mary Jane is great terrain for pushing your ski or ride abilities.

The far-reaching corners of the resort, such as the Parsenn Bowl, the Eagle Wind, and The Vasquez Cirque territories, offer even more challenging options for skiers and snowboarders alike. These territories feature backcountry terrain that virtually always has fresh powder stashes hidden away. New for this season is the Cirque Sled, a resort-provided snow-cat sled ride up into the Vasquez Cirque territory. This terrain was previously only accessible by physically hiking up there, which makes the sled an exciting new addition to the resort!

With consistent snow, new territory, and plenty of other events to boot, the Winter Park Resort offers lots of fun winter adventure opportunities for Grand Park residents. Of course, Grand Park is the ideal community for those who enjoy skiing, snowboarding, or any other of the area’s abundant mountain activities.

In just minutes, residents can go from the excitement of the ski slopes to the warmth and comfort of their mountain home in Grand Park! The Grand Park Village offers much more as well. Residents can stay in ski shape or just nurse sore legs at the Grand Park Recreation Center. The Village also offers several après-ski options as well, from wood-fired pizza and bowling at The Foundry to choosing from an around-the-world selection of beer, wine, and spirits at Grand Park’s own Icebox Liquors.
