Skiing in and around the Grand Park community
The Grand Park community is located in Grand County, Colorado, a county known for virtually endless winter ski opportunities. Plenty of options are available for both cross-country and downhill skiers alike.
Two downhill ski resorts, several cross-country ski resorts, and even more backcountry ski options are available in Grand County. The area has quite the ski culture, with ski clubs, retail ski shops, and plenty of après-ski options too. Indeed, the Grand Park area is the perfect community for skiers of all types – snowboarders, too!
Grand County features two downhill ski resorts, both just a stone’s throw from Grand Park. The Winter Park Resort offers over 3000 acres of skiable terrain for all ski styles and abilities, from front-side groomed runs to freestyle terrain parks to trees and moguls. Winter Park gets plenty of fresh powder as well, with an average annual snowfall total of over 29 feet!
Granby Ranch is a family-owned resort just north of Grand Park. This smaller, less crowded resort is a favorite among locals. With over 400 acres of skiable terrain for all abilities, Granby Ranch is a great place for you and your family to ski. Granby Ranch even offers night skiing on Friday and Saturday nights – a uniquely fun experience in itself!
In addition to the downhill ski resorts near Grand Park, many cross-country ski options abound as well. Several commercial cross-country ski areas are available just minutes from Grand Park. There are even more backcountry cross-country ski options within Grand County’s vast public lands as well.
In fact, cross-country skiing is even available in Grand Park! Our open spaces include miles of trails for our residents to ski in the winter (and hike and bike in the summer, too.) Yes, that’s right – you can go skiing literally right out the back door of your mountain home in Grand Park!
